a workaround that doesn't make any sense: go into
preferences->keyboard->layouts->layout options, go to compose key, and
then uncheck and recheck the box. That will make it work again for some
reason.

No, pbuilder clean is synonymous with apt-get clean (eliminates ALL the
cache). I want something equivalent to apt-get autoclean (eliminates
all obsolete packages in the cache)
Also pbuilder --autocleanaptcache update (or other commands I tried)
doesn't work either: it's neither a switch nor an o
I've been reviewing this change for a bit, and I'm still not sure that
forcing a depends on xmms2 is the right thing. Isn't it possible that a
user might not want a local xmms2 daemon running but still be using
esperanza to connect to a remote one?

believe Steve is right that this is a binary driver bug.
