I ended up purchasing a new computer, and then I re-installed Ubuntu
24.10, and then my various gnome plugins, and the issue seemed resolved.
Then I installed my various software tools and the issue - the inability
to resume from sleep with an external monitor connected - came back at
some point.
We will only SRU the gnome-shell fix for accessing the secrets keyring,
but not new polkit rules. This will bring back feature-parity with Jammy
and nothing more.
