Considering calf hasn't seen a proper release in 5 years, I'm not at all
surprised. Only recently have we seen any development activity start
back up from them, and I'm not entirely sure where it's going.
My advise is to use lsp-plugins as opposed to calf-plugins for now.

debug shell. As you will see there, it finds that the network-
config.json is invalid (so the cloud-config.txt is valid!)
The server iso [1] uses subiquity version 24.04.1, which has cloud-init

In addition, a version of Remmina with the fix applied can be installed
using the project's remmina-next PPA, found here:

Frequent boot to black display

Hoping to see the issue go away with the new Ubuntu 24.04 on a HP HP
ProDesk 400 G3 DM/82A5 and it uses Intel HD Graphics 630. But nope still
happens. I needed to pull the power for a bit before screen would come
back properly. Is there additional information needed to troubleshoot
the issue?

There's an open Debian bug in regards to that

So, I'm going to uninstall the repo version of EasyEffects (and calf-
plugins).
For now I'm going to use the Flatpak Flathub version of EasyEffects
instead.

I have a HP 17-cp1147ng notebook from the end of 2022.
The notebook worked "out of the box" with the Kubuntu 22.04 LTS. No
black screen there.
I've just installed Kubuntu 24.04 LTS on it.
I get a black screen after the HP logo on starting up (first time). Only
a hard reset

I just closed the lid of the notebook, probably entering "suspend" mode.
Yes, the screen was black, frozen, no mouse no keyboard. Only a hard
reset helped. The notebook started - with the help of nomodeset - like
before.

That's fine, but I am working on an SRU (Stable Release Update) of
EasyEffects since this is certainly a packaging error that I can fix
(not my error, but I have a fairly big hammer).

easyeffects has a packaging error in that it has a hard run-time Depends
on calf-plugins, which hasn't had a proper release in over five years
and has suffered bit-rot. Its mere presence on a system with Ardour and
Audacity installed can cause either program to crash
