Well, those tens-of-gigabytes image sizes are definitely not normal. I
tried to make xorriso output to stdout to make it skip the free space on
target partition check, but it failed in the same way.
I added a libisoburn (= xorriso) task to this bug and subscribed Thomas

I have the same problem. I have Ubuntu 20.04, uprgraded from 16.04.
I had some issues with lsb_release recently and changed lsb_release

I have the same problem and the fix in comment #11 fixed it.
I agree with comment #16. I join a copy of my dmesg and Xorg.0.log
before and after the fix. I hope it will be useful.

I too can confirm this. I have much simpler configuration, a single
17-inch laptop with full HD resolution. OS version is Ubuntu 20.04.
Under X11, if I select any fractional scaling above 100%, the mouse
cursor moves slower via the touchpad. Under Wayland there are no
problems on any scaling.

Thanks for your prompt answer! I narrowed things down a bit.
As I am using i3 wayland is not an option. I tried a live ubuntu 20.04 and could
