I've tried to install Ubuntu 20.10 MBR several times and it fails. It
only will install legacy boot using a GPT partition with bios-boot, EFI,

Most of the time Ubuntu boots the dock seems to freeze and not load any
icons, sometimes for up to a minute. When this happens the dock will not
appear when any window is maximized.
Once in a while Ubuntu loads without a problem. The dock loads instantly

OK, so deletion of pulse config helped. First deletion only temporarly
and the weird behavior came back after some switching. But after the
second one it seems to be permanently fixed and I can't reproduce the
faulty behavior.

This looks like a duplicate of bug 1872118 which is purportedly fixed
with a change to bind9-libs. However, I don't see the relationship
between bind9-libs and isc-dhcp. Regardless, it might be worth trying to
install bind9-libs and see if that resolves the issue.

Brian, my systems pull from focal. I turned on the developer option and
looked at what's available: plymouth isn't there. According to dpkg, the
system still has the 9.4 version from 20200323 installed. Should 9.5 be
available; is it not there yet; or am I looking in the wrong place?
