After reducing the number of partitions on the HDD to which I attempted
to install Ubuntu 20.04, the installation completed error free. I
suspect the initial GRUB error was triggered by an issue related to the

I am having the same problem. A few days ago I upgraded my computer from Ubuntu
19.10 to 20.04. Normally I was starting the MySql server manually. It started

I did not take any specific action to unload a profile from the kernel.
Instead, I rebooted the system, under the assumption that this would
wipe the slate clean, with everything reloading cleanly from

I had faced the similar issue but only when I had tried to compile my
application.
Below the VM configuration I had used :

Architecture : x86_64 bits
Distrib : Ubuntu 18.04
GCC : 7.5.0

I am likely experiencing the same issue, yet on other hardware: Ubuntu
20.04 with a ZTE MF100 modem but only on Raspberry Pi. The good news: I
