Yes. This is also true for read operations, not only for write.

I have a Lexmark E120 printer. It is working fine with Windows 7 and
Windows 10. I'm trying to migrate all my PCs to Ubuntu but my printer
prints one line garbage from Ubuntu. Seems to be related to this bug.
