The brightness level works correctly, but when the system goes to sleep
mode and then I wake it up, I am not able to increase/decrease the
brightness level using the keyboard controls (Fn + F11/F12), it works as
a On/Off switch pretty much. When it wakes up, the brightness lev

I have confirmed this bug on a standalone install of compiz on Ubuntu
server 18.04 - no unity, no mate, nothing.
Same results with both the application switcher and static application
switcher - can't change the background color or opacity. Some of the
other settings do work.

I have verified ubuntu-release-upgrader 1:18.04.36 on bionic. I have
enabled bionic-proposed, upgraded (pulling a new kernel), ran `do-
release-upgrade` and got the message that a reboot is required first. I
then double-checked the /var/run/reboot-required.pkgs contents - it only
had 'linux-base' a
"note that all snaps today actually use XZ compression, not LZMA."
xz = LZMA2 ( https://tukaani.org/xz/ ) which I guess is what was
referenced above.

I have performed the same verification of ubuntu-release-upgrader
1:16.04.29 on xenial. I have enabled xenial-proposed, upgraded (pulling
