I reported same bug (several times) on the same system (on different partition
- one fresh installed and one xubuntu 18.04 ). On the first partion the on
board sound card are not detected (dummy on pavucontrol). On the 2nd partition
pavucontrol shows unplugged even modifyng with several options

Recently I have been facing problem with computer graphics.
Sometimes while working, the system freezes and when the system resumes working
a pop-up window appears stating that "An error occurred", and in the details of

- in Cosmic the test issues are fully resolved
- in Bionic the MP to hint them is up but did not yet get a response

As usual - thanks bug - with a proper ssh set up and logged in it just doesn't
