I just bought Intel NUC8I5BEH and have also really annoying problems
with Ethernet Connection (6) I219-V (device id 15be). Tried to install
ubuntu 18.04 LTS version which _should_ be compatible with that NIC but
immediately couple of seconds after connectinc network cable (or loading
kernel module)
I just captured this once more after starting an openstack bundle

The issue seems rather in the pixbuf loader/jpg library. Do you still
see the problem in newer Ubuntu versions? If so could you add a file
example to the bug?

If so could you give details on the view type (list/icons) and the type
of files (do they get preview images replacing the icon which could lead
to relayout the view?)

The issue described there was in the fileselector widget from gtk, not
in the filemanager, it also seems resolved in newer versions with the
new popover widget used for entering the name
