My testing procedure:
1. Switch cups log level to info.
2. Restart cups.
3. Install printer-driver-cups-pdf to have a virtual printer.
4. Replace imagetopdf filter:
sudo mv /usr/lib/cups/filter/imagetopdf /usr/lib/cups/filter/imagetopdf.bk

a link --> sudo nano /etc/gdm3/greeter.dconf-defaults
Then I re-enabled GDM3, rebooted, and I'M BACK! I'm logging in normally
GDM3! No more SLiM!

There is no error message it just does not work or allow the creation of
calendars.
Try to install SOGo and connect to a user calendar. You will see that
you cannot even enter the parameters.
I found a workaround and currently use Thunderbird.

which if hovered while dragging, activates the shell overview and hence
allows to drop on the chose window.

In the source code of linux/tools/testing/selftests/lib.mk:
+top_srcdir ?= ../../../..
+include $(top_srcdir)/scripts/subarch.include
Seems that the top_srcdir should be ?= ../../.. instead.
