I did some testing: deactivated the dedicated graphics in the bios,
booted to ubuntu 18.04 and 18.10 (installed parallel) and both worked.
Though with the dedicated graphics enabled (nvidia) the brightness does

be explicit about it, since this bug
I am an overclocker with i7-6850k, specifically I have it on an Asus
board with all six cores running at 4.3 Ghz and reliably at that. How do I
obtain this particular micorocode to test? The last one caused the CPU to
run at 3.6 Ghz with microcode installed so it is running without microcode

Running Ubuntu 18.04 / Mac OS High Sierra Dual Boot on Macbook Pro 11,1.
I've had a long standing kernel problem, that is still present for
Ubuntu's linux-generic 4.15.0-34 kernel.
Since roughly December the system has two kinds of boots: good and bad.
I had been running 16.0
Is this reproducible on both real and virtual hardware??? If it works on
virtual, does it work regardless of whether or not the host is amd64?
