That implies that for you it is some other config than the current
kernel (or a combination thereof), so far multiple people including me
have not been able to reproduce this - so to further fix things we have
to spot what is different within your setup triggering the issue for
you.
Unfortunately
The kernel team doesn't like the big pull I've made, so I made a
backported version of the patch which is now in upstream linux stable.
So when the next Bionic kernel update pulls patches from linux-stable,
the fix will be there.

I also have the same issue on a Razer Blade 2017 - 7500U model. My
system has the exact same drive in it. I have just installed the
4.18.0-3 kernel linked above and will post here if I run into the issue

Hmm... I see.
So the misbehavior I see does not fit this bug, because this bug does
not deal with the root-cause but with just an error message, a
consequence of it.
I've used in the past year always the newest kernels with my Ubuntu
installations. They have their hickups here and there but I did
