Found the solution here, I was building the kernel module with the wrong gcc
version.

I've managed to get to the correct state by variously switching between
hidpi/lodpi and cycling through a few different panel configurations,
with the last one before it became unbroken being cupertino. I can't now
reproduce the problem again to find a causal scenario. Sorry :-(

I have windows 10 installation on UEFI mode in other partition. I
recently removed Ubuntu 16.04 partition to do a fresh installation of
Ubuntu 18.04. But when I install it through bootable USB, I get the
error during grub-2 installation process.

It's better now. After #78 I run
sudo service gdm3 start
sudo dpkg-reconfigure gdm3
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:graphics-drivers/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
activate nvidia-driver-396, and now works, but X is started on
ctrl+alt+F2, not on F7, and on F1 I get only mouse pointer

I have upgraded mu Ububtu to 17.10 and then it got the GNOME3 I guess ,
since then while wathcing the youtube videos the screen gets locked
where as it shouldn't as the browser has the activity going on.
And please note I hadn't installed any flash player
