On a clean install of Ubuntu 17.10 I get a similar error. Installation
on new hard drive works without a glitch, and the "You must restart your
machine yada yada yada...' popup appears. I then click on the restart
button in the popup, the system begins the restart cycle, but goes to a
black screen

Hi, I do not believe canonical is committing to fix all the
upstream/mainline selftest failures. However, if there are additional
selftest regressions with the ubuntu kernel which are not seen with the
mainline build, those are worth looking into. If these selftests never
pass on POWER maybe it is
john-center - I believe mdadm is used by default, instead of dmraid.
However, I'm not sure if we do correctly activate Intel Raids with
mdadm. I have not done an install with either 16.04 or 18.04. Or I guess
at least start the install up to the partitioning screen. My expectation

Tested the scilab 5.5.2 for ubuntu which works great.
However, I did not test it before applying the jogl2 patch :-o.
Had a look at the source and it seems that the Ubuntu version is patched to use

configuration in Xenial. Since Curtin is now passing the /same/

Strange. There was an IO error trying to update the EFI variables. I'm
not sure if it matters or if it is just odd, but the system tried to

Adding 'After=local-fs.target' essentially pushes cloud-init to have that same

Thanks for testing. That could mean that a SAUCE patch caused this
regression. I review the git log. If nothing sticks out, we can
perform a regular kernel bisect of the Ubuntu kernels.
