and disable it permanently does not sound like a good idea. i guess.

No, that's not a solution, because as soon as libreoffice 6 is in the
ubuntu archive it will have the working apparmor profiles. If you want
to disable the apparmor profiles permanently, you can do the following:
sudo ln -s /etc/apparmor.d/usr.lib.libreoffice.program.*
/etc/apparmor.d/disable/

retracing my steps, i try the full iso again, but i guess the fire's gone out

17.10 - the last upgrade broke the ability to load the file with the
same permission denied
disabling the apparmor profile fixed the issue

Update to my October post in LP#1667750 which turned out to be a
separate issue (1Gbps mode dropouts) on the same adapter.
Dell Precision 5520 and BIOS 1.7 using TB16. This is on Ubuntu 16.04.3,
kernel 4.13.0
The issue is still present. I tried limiting the bandwidth using
`ethtool -s eth0 speed
I followed the steps from #27 and everything works fine now on 16.04.3
with a SuperMicro Board X11SSH-F with Intel C236 Chipsets RST and two
sata disks as Raid 1.
I can also confirm #28, the first reboot still needed a hard reset and a
rebuild of the Raid 1, but after this, every (>10) shutdown an
