Well, I located nemo-dbg in the PPA ppa:noobslab/nemo3.
Installing it required an upgrade to nemo to version
3.4.7.1-b~zesty~NoobsLab.com.
I ran nemo from gdb, and Nemo did not segfault during the (lengthy) cut-n-paste
photo transferring session.
Neither did I get the Thumbnail Cache Problem ban

I don't get any of that information. Even tried "--dump-opengl-details"
and get nothing other than what's shown in comment #6.
Just tried env LIBGL_SHOW_FPS=1 though, and it agrees with Stellarium

files. $HOME is ecryptfs. /tmp/ is tmpfs.
