I have an old Acer Aspire 5220, and after the harddisk died I decided to
install the Artful beta of Ubuntu MATE. Everything except the touchpad

It has passed the first two tests, but failed with the last two:

Tested with Colin's patch on node archytas with Trusty kernel, it can
