restoring to only user locations? That what happened to me in Xenial. I
was restoring folders and files to a user location, which doesn't need

The TL;DR of this was:
1. even with all qemu patches identified by IBM and upstream while working on
this the issue still showed up.
2. newer kernels (>=4.8, but also newer 4.4 kernels than those on the release

Ok, I did another approach -> I installed a newer version of the RPM packge:
4.12.0.2+dfsg1-2build2
That version seamlessly does its job and the "archivesize" field is filled
appropriately. But I guess that is the package version
4.13-rc4 - touchscreen is working. No go on touchpad, does not show up
with lsusb, lspci or lshw

Please try to reinstall it:

Are you sure 9c3f3794 fixes it? I'm not a kernel expert but since the backtrace
differs and, according to the commit message, I'd say it's a different issue.
We could try backporting it manually and check but maybe reverting 2ad4caea651
suffices until
ubuntu guys fix the bug in a future tag?
