I'm not sure what >100% means but if it means there might be distortion
or clipping then those would be reasons to not allow >100% by default.
If the volume isn't loud enough by default then maybe the user should
find some form of external amplification (that won't have distortion or

AIUI there a a few AppArmor patches that have not yet landed upstream,
for confinement. For the rest, vanilla latest upstream should work, most
of the things snapd requires have landed.

Weirdly there are practically no crashes reported for Xwayland:
https://errors.ubuntu.com/?package=xwayland&period=year
This makes me suspect that gnome-shell might be managing the Xwayland
process and possibly hiding its crashes (including the root cause of
this bug) from errors.ubuntu.com.

This is due to having both nautilus.desktop and org.gnome.Nautilus.desktop,
despite this one having OnlyShowIn=, GNOME Shell converts nautilus.deskto
This isn't a good answer for people working with laptops, where this

Yeah it's a good option to have. I'm just suggesting it should not be
possible to accidentally push volume over 100% by pressing the volume
keys. You should have to enable the option explicitly and it should not
be on by default. Because distortion and clipping may (will?) occur.

tried also 64bit latest alpha 2 image. 40GB virtualbox HDD - again

The 'openjdk-8' is installed in order to install the 'atom' in advance;
I did not modify the 'openjdk-8' software and installed it directly using the
`apt-get` command.

This is quite critical for us, and anyone else who has software with
dependencies on Java 8, since that software no longer installs on 14.04
and there is no workaround. The change that caused the problem is
actually in the openjdk package (which worked up until yesterday when
the change was made):

It's strange that there is No reference to the known bug. I am useing the
Ubuntu login.

(4.10.0-27.30~16.04.2) which was installed recently into Ubuntu 16.04
via linux-image-generic-hwe-16.04.
The problem only occurs after suspend and can be reproduced. With the

I can now confirm this bug landed on the LTS HWE kernel.
Honestly, I get Ubuntu for free (well I support them but by no means
this is comparable to certain other license schemes out there) but I
have never been so disappointed. All my systems are now at risk. I don't
