I know this bug might already be closed, but although the update does
fix the issue in gedit, terminal etc, Chromium still does not work for

It turns out that if you mess up (like in your system automation setup)
- and ask for installing a package named perl-byacc- (where you wanted
to install perl-byacc-subname) - apt just chooses to remove perl-byacc..
even if perl-byacc is not installed - it returns 0 - meaning
Design says:
"For now please revert to Gnome standard, we first want to get to a workable
theme and once everything is converted to Gnome we can look at improving the
icons (this might be an 18.04 timeframe)."

System has been working normally since reporting this bug, without
further prompts to report a system problem.
According to man apt-get, sudo apt-get install -f is the same as the
sudo apt --fix-broken install that I have already ran. I ran the sudo
apt-get clean and sudo apt-get update
Patches are accepted and will be included in fwts 17.07.00

16.04), with the same GPU, GTX 1060 (in an MSI Apache Pro).

Although after some reboots and reconnects I found I could encounter
similar bugs, the proposed packages are still much better than what's in
xenial at present. It took a lot more effort to confuse and break the
bluetooth audio mode than it usually does :)

At a guess the cause of the problem may be some kind of headphone volume
boost option that's turned on by default, and weirdly turned off by
"'Headphone Mic Boost',0 1". This may not be avoidable interference as
much as just excessive volume boost turned on by default.

Actually GDB is not even comparable with the internal debugger. It can't
really debug guest OS: GDB doesn't support 16-bit code, it can't
correctly handle switches between 16-32-64-bit modes, can't work with
physical vs virtual memory mapping, etc. It's just useless as a
rep

Built a new kernel for testing:

Also, you can remove "nvme_core.default_ps_max_latency_us=0" - the model
you use is already in the quirk table. Keep "nvme_core.dyndbg=+p" in the
meantime.

The status bar is only being hidden while mouse hovering, it is not removed
completely. It's an improvement to the current status. There is no regression
here.
I tested 1:3.18.4.is.3.14.3-0ubuntu6 in xenial-proposed and verified the fix.
