Thank you for taking the time to report this crash and helping to make
this software better. This particular crash has already been reported
and is a duplicate of bug #1505409, so is being marked as such.
I find it absolutely astonishing that a bug that is easy to trigger, can
cause data loss, and requires a hard reboot is treated with a lower
priority than security bugs.
Surely Ubuntu 17.04 should be flagged "not suitable for production
machines" until this issue is fixed?

sha1sum checks and all looks good, but the problem still persists.
Nothing suggested in this bug reports works for me. Luckily, on my
system where it fails, I do not make use of libvirt; this issue is just
an annoying error me
Same on "Kubuntu 16.04.2 LTS" with 4.8.0-52-generic kernel.
After automatic switching access points the process "plasmashell --shut-up"
generates 100% CPU load.
In my case, it is related to the Skype 4.3.0.37 application.
As soon as I kill the Skype tray icon, the "plasmashell --shut-up" vanishes

I installed your patched kernel on my Desktop today and it run now from
3 hours without problem, no more cifs flood.. :)

This is more than a feature request (which would be "wishlist" in

Hi Vincent,
I also met the problem, and your advice removing "nouveau" succeeded for
work-around to stabilize system. Before it freeze every 3-5hr after
booting up, but now working without problem for 2 days.
My enviroment is:
- cpu: Ryzen 1700
- motherboard: ASUS B350M-A
- graphics card: NVIDIA
This is still an issue in the current linux-raspi2 version. Where those
changes ported to that kernel?
