Just upgraded to 17.04 from 16.10 and it's just plain broken (i.e. h/w
restart and/or 'service network-manager-restart' doesn't fix it).
Tried GRUB boot from 14.04 (which I still have on a spare partition) and
all working ok - so we can't blame hardware or ISP problems...

package libmetis5:amd64 5.1.0.dfsg-5 failed to install/upgrade: package is
in a very bad inconsistent state; you should reinstall it before attempt
"yade compiled fine, but
crashed just after the start. It means that each package should
not only be recompiled but also started to be sure we don`t break
many installations."
Are you interested in doing that? If not, it might be best to just wait
until Debian is ready to make that transition.
**
Updated in accord with RedHat bugzilla.
** Summary changed:
- failed to attach more than 3 uas devices on 16.04 LTS HWE kernel
+ Optimal I/O size isn't calculated properly with uas module, and it may make
data inconsistent on the disk and logical volume
