I believe it has to do with me installing KDE and then having a video
card that is not supported by default drivers(GTX 1070) When installing
Ubuntu originally I had to use an old video

the physical free space as criteria for resizing.
additionally to looking at the partition data, the resize code also
needs to check if the filesy
