Same issue is happening to me, although in my case it's happening on
attempts to upgrade or remove rather than on initial install. Here's
what happens (the .deb file in question is a security update that was
obtained from the Ubuntu archives using apt and should be the latest
version):

Same problem here. Some partitions still appear in `mount` output and
`/proc/mounts` but can't be unmounted via either device name or mount point.
Repeatedly trying `umount -l` with device names and mount points finally
managed to get the partitions unmounted.

Yes, can't use OpenGL interface applications like Blender 2.78a anymore
after the driver update. I can run it but it doesn't draw the geometry
correctly and then gives a black screen with a text cursor. Blender
requires opengl 2.1 which I have and it worked fine before the update,
also running Blen

Another note: playing opus works just fine because the code path in that
case goes through qtmultimedia -> qtubuntu-media -> media-hub ->
gstreamer 1.0.
So the missing thing is opus encoding in vivid for
qtmultimedia/gstreamer 0.10, and that is what Devid's patches fix.

button. I keep the network settings on my android tablet open to see
when it connects. I will give it a few seconds after each scan. If it
doesn't connect, I flip the hotspot button on my MX4 off and on again.

Honestly? I'm running (or trying to) Ubuntu server off of Raspberry Pis.
I don't need or want LXD. At least provide another task (minimal-server)
or something that we can use that pulls only in what is truly needed.
