** Description changed:
Hello,
Debian has recently updated their libirrlicht and libirrlicht-dev
packages to the 1.8.4 release of irrlicht.
I request irrlicht 1.8.4 to be included in the yakkety 16.10 release of
ubuntu, through the freeze exception process [0].
Please see the
Public bug reported:
On an NVMe system I'm using, Ubuntu 16.04.1 regularly seems to trigger
off a kernel panic against somepart of the NVMe driver it looks like,
after which the logs get filled with entries over and over again of:
"bad: scheduling from the idle thread!"
Here's the initial stack
gzip'd copy of the kern.log showing the error.
** Attachment added: "kern.log.gz"

Is it possible to relax these rules without also bringing in apt-get
dist-upgrade's unfortunate ability to uninstall packages when it thinks
that's the shortest solution? We've seen cases where dist-upgrade
sometimes tries to remove sudo or the signed shim.
Thanks

OK, a bit more data:
Xenial with 4.4 and 4.8 kernels - works fine (so not a 4.8 kernel regression)
Yakkety with 4.4 and 4.8 kernels - shows the slow behavior (so not a kernel
issue)
So I think this is a problem in the plumbing layer.

I think it's a bug of Akamai. ACNG does reeencode the URL which was sent
back in the intermediate redirect response - however, this is basically
legal URL encoding, no magic done there. Simple HTTP clients would use
the URL from redirect response as-is and therefore never trigger that
condition.
