I see the same for 4.4.0-34-generic - resume works, but suspend doesn't
if I just close the lid. If I select Suspend from the menu it works, so
I just use that as a workaround.

keep your hopes up.
To Henrik, the notebooks in question do have the same camera model, from the

I bought them for my family members and I don't have access to them.

experience now.
I seem to have a lot more failures on xenial but it might be real

Dear reader,
Tested the latest upstream 4.4 stable kernel. All seems well in
upstream. It is the current LTS kernel version that seems to have the
glitch.
To summarize:
4.4.17 : no problem. (Commit: 133cec911c639d2cdf544ed602442951f702e08c)
4.4.15 : no problem. (Commit: 35467dc7630af60abacc330f64
Ubuntu is free to create a patch themselves. For us, v2 is EOL, and
has been EOL for over a year. We encourage everyone to upgrade to v3,
which has all of the relevant fixes included. And, which has many more
features.

I confirm the issue with the Broadcom 20702A0 bluetooth 4 dongle,
exactly as described. Also tested with earlier kernels on Debian and
Ubuntu systems. No possibility of reliable usage over bluetooth.
I would greatly appreciate this bug being given attention. We have a
University lab full of Linux
Hardware Certification have begun testing this -proposed kernel.
