Xsane generates the error: "Failed to open device
'avision:libusb:009:003': Operation not supported"
The only work around I've found is to us vuescan (commercial software).
vuescan even supports transparency scanning, something the sane driver
never did, even when
I tried to save a screenshot to a thumb drive, and to a folder in my main OS
from the live environment, but the Ubuntu live environment won't let one do
that. Any ideas short of reinstalling again?

I ran into the same issue just now on 15.10 trying to drag <300 text
files (<2MB) into a folder. I just received the "preparing ..." pop-up.
When I hit cancel after several minutes, a small portion of the files
had transfer.
