I have a very similar behaviour on my i7 PC with two Benq monitors: 23" vga and
24" dvi.
Dvi one can blink several times in a row or not to blink for some long time.

Thanks for your report. This is the same problem that happens on OTA
when someone installs additional packages in the system partition and
there is not enough space left to apply the OTA. It is a non recoverable
situation and there must be a protection against this in system-image.

I am using this patch to fix the specific problem with rename()
which looks like a clear bug no matter what the cache behaviour.
In trivial tests, Git has started behaving after this. I haven't
stress tested it to see if other cache consistency issues still

Seems like that upower doesn't have a "state" for that device and upower
indicator_power_device_get_icon_names() displays a unknown icon in that
case, it looks like it could be better handled ... Charles, any
suggestion there? Should devices without a valid icon not be made
primary for the indicato

On my notebook (16.04, daily updates) the problem appeared with an
update on 2016-05-06. Now it happens regularly. A single call of
"restart unity-panel-service" so far always fixed it. Yes, it looks like
some race condition.

@seb128: I did some debugging. While this

since systemd, it was not so easy. I did found out though, that when
changing to tty1-6 and loggin in, then changing to tty7 I can use
networkmanager from lightdm. But not before loggin
