As an offtop: I only wanted to note that, yep, dwb builds good on 14.04,
you just need to obtain it from http://portix.bitbucket.org/dwb/, and a
couple of libraries from Ubuntu repositories, such as libsoup2.4-dev,
libgtk-3-dev etc. Seems rather stable so far, well, at least it runs :)

This is not fixed for 14.04 LTS. Also installing xfonts-100dpi-
transcoded (the only one of the five listed above that I did not already
have installed) does not help. This still happens:

After much experimenting, the problem seems to be with the nvidia
driver. Updating it to nvidia-361 made *this* problem go away, except it
renamed all outputs, refused to show anything on eDP-1 and made the
whole thing hung in 5 minutes after reboot. Reverted to 15.10 which has
less difficulties.
Clarification on last comment, it did show black screen on eDP-1, which
changed to having image if one logged out. After logging in, it turned
into black screen with garbled 2mm band at top of the screen. Mouse was
displayed on the screen if moved there, but as I said, the entire
machine tended to

I completely removed gnome-system-monitor and reinstalled. It made no

The problem is actually with php-tcpdf <-- it's this one that installs
php5 packages. I just reported a bug and fix up to Xenial

6200U, Intel HD 520) and each time I plug a screen, using either HDMI or Mini
DisplayPort, my laptop freezes after a few seconds.

As I mentioned above, 2.10.8 is a known-bad release. It turns out that
it broke many sites, not just Twitter. You really do not want to ship
with this; you should upgrade to 2.10.9.

b-drake: "It must be hardware specific" - unsure, as my desktop have amd
cpu and nvidia video with nvidia proprietary drivers, while my laptop is
intel cpu with intel video. So very different hardware but same bug.
