I can think of no reason why media hub needs to know an apps focus state
Its also the case that focusing a different app does not cause this behavior,

Using "Reset Preferences" in VLC recreates the problem. This would indicate
that the default config exhibits it.

That bug prerequisite is that the youtube scope is not a favorite when
pressing the log-in to youtube button.
