install of 15.10 Xubuntu. Yet when my lid is closed while in my docking
station (two external monitors connected), the system puts it in suspend
mode after a short time. Is there still some default setting I have to
mess with,

The /usr/share/sddm/scripts/Xsetup file is automatically and silently
overwritten when sddm is updated, removing any modifications the user
may have made to the file. This is a pain because it requires the file
to be re-edited after every update if the user needs to launch so
What about test cases? The dialer tests passed despite the bug when I
was checking this. Does any existing test catch it - which would mean
either the bug was introduced manually or the test plan is complete?

Was just clicking around when the screen suddenly when black--went to
the virtual terminal-- after a few seconds lightdm started back up. I
had to login and launch my apps again. It happened a few times already.
Looked at the logs and there's a backtrace in /var/log/Xorg.0.
I've been having the same error.
In my case statd.log gave this message:
/proc/self/fd/9: 6: /etc/default/nfs-common: no: not found
Checking /etc/default/nfs-common there was this line
NEED_STATD= no
instead of
NEED_STATD=no
(note the space between = an no) and it was giving me that error.

On a new install of wily. update-grub is improperly inserting a
carriage return on the "linux" line of the grub.cfg menu items, between
the two devices of a btrfs raid1 system (which for my system is in a
luks container). The menu entries all looks like this:

Florian Voit, given no crash information is provided, and you emailed a
generic mailing list with information from the Ubuntu kernel, I wouldn't
expect a response. Upstream needs something more to work with besides
"my computer crashes". Also, they don't support the Ubuntu kernel.

I have to revice my comment from January 4th. The error is gone without
external display connected with 4.4.0 rc7 for me too, still occuring
with ext. display connected. I'm not sure what I was looking at, maybe
booted the wrong kernel, stupid me.
Since yesterday 4.4.0 rc8 is released, same behavi
