Indeed these ppa's urls are invalid, as the required 'ppa owner' is not set.
It's easy to check those fake 'ppa' ending to 'launchpad.net' into your browser.
Why these urls have been added to sources.list ? and from where have

i tried to upgrade Kubuntu 15.04 to 15.10 using the standard procedure
but it fails

I've managed to find a path to reliably reproduce, ironically while
attempting to provide further information:
In both Chrome & Chromium, selecting the above stacktrace, rightclicking
and selecting "Copy" crashes X.

The above path for reproducing the error works reliably, even after a
full system restart (i.e. restarting more than X alone)
The stacktrace is similar but different from the earlier one:
