I had a similar problem on a Xubuntu 14.04
- software update replaces VirtualBox with version 4.3.34 and all my VM
machines crash
- reboot change nothing,when I reboot with 13.10 the VM machines run .

After numerous re-installs with .3 and .2 above. No luck. Changed BIOS to CSM
One other note: This is a new laptop that came with Windows 10. Removed
that and reformatted the HD to ext4 and swap.
So, this is now a Ubuntu ONLY laptop.

my work-around until this is fixed (dnsmasq DNS should be reset before
settings VPN tunnel DNS) is to reset the dns of the vpn connection
we can only do that via dbus because dnsmasq do not expose it's
configuration; we use a netwrok dispatcher script too, so:
in /etc/NetworkManager/dispatcher.d
I suspect this is related to Bug #1520812 which I just filed

and Broadcom Corporation BCM43142 under 14,04, 14.10, 15.04 and 15.10.

While this appears to only show in LO apps, I also notice that the
choice of Ubuntu Light for my desktop gets replaced with Ubuntu Thin.
