So, after a re-start, the thumbnails start showing up correctly? If so,
there is nothing wrong with the photo itself, otherwise you'd never see
a thumbnail at all for that photo. If not, there is something wrong with
the photo, in which case attaching one of the non-working photos would
hep.
Also

Hi,
at the moment
* php5-apcu_4.0.7-1build1~ubuntu14.04.1_amd64.deb
reached me with the standard update procedure from trusty/backports
repo:
root@server:~# apt-show-versions php5-apcu
php5-apcu:amd64/trusty-backports 4.0.7-1build1~ubuntu14.04.1 uptodate

Hi! The same happens there.
Each time the computer is rebooted with this kernel:
$ uname -a
Linux tp 3.13.0-65-generic #106-Ubuntu SMP Fri Oct 2 22:08:27 UTC 2015
x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
then everything works correctly.
However, if the computer is rebooted with this kernel:
never used the photo scope on my phone, but I can confirm: killing the
gallery app (or restart the device) don't fix it.
thanks!

... That means, the problem is
1. not fixed for Ubuntu LTS 14.04 and major (!) third party packages, that need
this (owncloud)
2. this bug is not a duplicate of but #1500167 which asks explicitely for the
BACKPORT repo
So I think the duplicate flag should be removed and this should be
resolved
Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.
** Changed in: upower (Ubuntu)
Status: New => Confirmed

Very strange, I just found a directory that was setted 750 as mode, changed it
to 755 : the bug disapear.
To confirm, I got back the dir mode to 750, the bug doesn't occur anymore.
In doubt, I leave it setted to 755 as it shouldn't hurt but I do not understand
what does the trick.
Hope this help
