I tried the kernel 4.0.0-04rc7-generic at a newer machine sporting
Ubuntu 14.04.
It was hard to get it swapping as it some applications seems to be
better now on itself, for example the newer Gimp seems to have a
sophisticated virtual image memory by itself, so it almost never causes
swapping
I must admit that while I encountered unresponsive swapping conditions
about once a week, and seen other people encounter it, it is not easy to
recreate them on demand :-)

apparmor for evince, the pdf loads fine.
I guess it's because I have texlive installed and evince tries to load

More: creating a new 'test' account on the i5 machine and changing auto
login to that account results in auto login working OK for 'test'.

First, I have to mention that after additional testing I found that the
ab1304b986468e3ef698ec4e1cb1a3d4ba080811 commit actually does work, but
for some unknown reason I have to turn off the wifi adapter and turn it
back on after the computer starts.

I dropped that codepath entirely in vivid in 1.17.23ubuntu1, since it
was only meant for transitions to trusty anyway. Ubuntu doesn't do
point releases the same way as Debian (we don't merge -updates down into
the release pocket at point releases), so fixing this for T/U will do no
one any measura
FWIW, this feels a bit like a bug/misfeature in cdebootstrap that it
doesn't run postinsts in the same order as debootstrap (which doesn't
show this bug). Being gross-hack-for-gross-hack compatible would seem
like a worthwhile goal.
