I booted up into the latest Kubuntu 15.04 daily build, and while the
corruption still occurs when changing display settings, unlike Unity it
seems to recover afterwards (the background gets messed up as you can
see from the video, but at least the desktop remains usable):

With the latest one psmouse drive doesn't work, the usb drive either.

The packages for libparted and kpartx don't have the patches for using
device-mapper (multipath/LVM) on 4k-sector disks (generally: 'non
512-byte sector disks')
This causes the number of sectors of each device-mapper partition to be 1/8th
