I stumbled across this bug after purchasing a used Dell PowerEdge 2850
and installing Ubuntu 14.04 server. I've been building kernels for
years and so I downloaded kernel 3.13.11 from ftp.kernel.org and built a
new kernel and a new set of modules. But update-initramfs failed do to
lack of space
Wow, thanks Alberto - that would be great! We (wine-staging) would like
to link to libXNVCtrl and having it be a dynamic library removes the
ambiguity about what we're supposed to do license-wise (and it
dramatically simplifies our configure check!).

Public security bug reported:
It was found that due to excessive files_lock locking, a soft lockup
could be triggered in the Linux kernel when performing asynchronous I/O
operations. A local, unprivileged user could use this flaw to crash the
system.
The fix for this issue is now in upstream v3.16.7-ckt6 as: 7106dbc
The Ubuntu 3.16.0-32.42 kernel now has the v3.16.7-ckt6 updates and is
in the -proposed repository.
Would it be possible for you to test this latest kernel and post back if
it resolves this bug?

This is not a bug. First of all, Malwarebytes is designed to insert
modules in the Windows kernel, making it useless (also, there is no
reason to use it as malwares won't run on Linux, they afect parts of
Windows that are not present in Wine...). For missing components, I
