Not sure I'd consider this a "major" bug. On the 20+ machines I maintain
if that message is simply ignored for 5 to 10 seconds boot completes
with no user action at all. It's cosmetically nasty - in that it gives
the impression that something is actually borked.

Not 100% certain that this is my exact bug. Tried both secure and normal
ubuntu 14.10 installs on a new hd that has just had win8.1 installed.
Normal install has some problems and then misses unbuntu and goes
straight to windows. Secure install crashes before installation is
complete. Cannot grab a
Fresh install a couple of days ago. This error appeared after a "cold
boot" after the machine was off and after updates were installed.
Nothing more to add.

d-i multipath disk-partition
So what seems to be happening, is that the radio technology switch
causes the modem to unregister from the current carrier, and attempt to
re-register using the new tech preference ( eg. umts, lte, gsm, ... ).
This will cause the ofono ConnectionManager 'Attached' property to
