It happens to me as well. When i open system setting on ubuntu(14.10),
it starts to work again. But it is really annoying. Hope it is fixed
soon.

apt 1.1~exp4 fixes this issue (see also debbug #762898) in git commit

3.19ubuntu vivid kernel. Please include in ubuntu.

I managed to got it to work, after playing with the e1000e driver as
suggested on
