I have not seen this hang since I stopped using the direct rendering
(DRI) of the ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 in this ThinkPad T60. I switched
video drivers (now using the X.Org "radeon" driver) because the new
external monitor I am using (ViewSonic VG2439m) would glitch, loose sync
and scamble text)

Ok, the parameters are filtered now.
I'd still like to see subprocess.Popen() in combination with it's Parameter
shell=False in the code.
Please, do not use commands.getstatusoutput() , its unsave when there are
arguments in the string wich the attacker can reach.
Subprocess.Popen() directs the
libeot is also fine. No tests, though which is a bummer. Especially
since it's a file parser library. I'd normally ask for a security audit
too, but since this is code that's already in main, we'll skip it.
I'd also like to a symbols file for it, but still not a blocker.
