I just now did it again in nautilus/trusty (1:3.10.1-0ubuntu9.4). Even after
"nautilus --quit" and "rm -rf ~/.config/nautilus" in case it was my old config.

The difference with a text file is that it shows with a proper icon
rather than the same "folder" icon, and nautilus specifically asks to
overwrite rather than merge. But on symlinks nautilus asks "Merge
folder?" and then actually overwrites.

with the old kernel it works even less: It doesn't find the device
anymore and the btusb kernel module is somehow blocked so that I cannot
unload it. With the new kernel it finds the device, but no operation

Cryptkeeper starting segfaul
I think I was affected by this issue , which lead me to this error
message after unloading Xorg :
sudo modprobe radeon
[ 301.718377] [drm:radeon_init] *ERROR* No UMS support in radeon module!
I had to force kms by :
grep radeon /etc/default/grub
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="radeon.mod
In Ubuntu 14.10 I have to delete ~ /.gimp-2.8 directory, then all seems to
work.
Consider making first a backup of your .gimp-2.8 directory.

Which is the trouble with this bug: it's actually several otherwise very minor
shortcomings that add up to a nasty result.
Apples-to-apples check did fix one problem, but it's circumvented via another.

I confirm this bug for Linux Mint 17.1 64bit using Virtualbox (version:
