I found this thread and I had to join in because I got the same issue with my
brand new MSI GS70 2QE gaming notebook.
I have managed to install Ubuntu 14.04.1 in dual boot along side windonw 8.1
with UEFI and secure boot enabled.

I also experienced this issue when using the composer in Geary 0.8.1
under 14.10 x64. Disabling IBus worked for me.
If someone ever gets assigned to this bug, feel free to contact me for

On a couple of occasions now my krillin has frozen at the partly drawn welcome
screen when I press the power button to wake it.
The display doesn't update and touching the screen does nothing.
Pressing the power button again blanks the screen and wakes again on

qtpim packages are installed system wide before running the tests. This
is a change in behavior from when qtpim was built against Qt 5.3.0,
