Forgot to add that the LV's are for media files and virtualbox vms so
the system could otherwise boot (if I chose to skip mounting the LV's
via 'S'). I'd than still have to run 'vgchange -ay' then manually mount
the partitions after the system was up.

vgchange -an, I ended up with a system that could not activate the LV's

On 14.04 I am getting an issue on my Thinkpad T520 where running the
"proprietary,tested" 331.38 driver causes my display to hang. It seems
to stay that way until I switch to tty6 with ctrl+alt+f6 and then back

replacing motherboard, RAM and CPU just for a single problem. I am
using a 3770K on an ASUS P8Z-77v-Deluxe motherboard. Nothing about my

tested with 14.04 with upstream kernel 3.14, problem still exists
BUT: found a workaround:
- on resume, dont login from lockscreen, but 1)choose 'log in as different
user' 2)enter password and unlock from lightdm
(this became more difficult in 14.04 with new lockscreen)
