@Anasuya -- the failure here is triggered by what I would think of as an
invalid assumption in the LTP test in this case. The value MINSIGSTKSZ
says that you should have your stack bigger than this to be valid. It
does not actually say that if it is one byte fewer than the limit it
will not work.

freeze.
Notably it's possible to "recover" by simply swiping in the launcher from the

I only and always get this when I log out and back in. There is similar
graphic 'garbage' on boot, but logging out and in takes pretty much the
same time as rebooting.

Further to comment #2, Writer opened correctly when I double mouse-
clicked on a .odt file. Now Writer opens from both the main menu and
Alt-F2.
The LO main window still starts up with black contents and needs to be
terminated after it appears to hang.

I have several ubuntu 12.04 systems. On testing some of them to upgrade
to 14.04, a few of them fail.
All the systems where updated to the moment before the trusty upgrade,
so they where running 12.04.04 at upgrade time.
The ones that work file, seem to be installed recently
