After extensive testing, i believe there is benefit in clearing tty in
plymouth pre-stop instead. And in some configurations post-stop can be

By the way Dan Jared, maybe you could grab the Debian source package of the old
version of JAyatana (for Ubuntu 12.04-13.04) from my PPA and add it to your own
(you can make some changes if you want).
That way, your PPA will make JAyatana available for Ubuntu 12.04-13.10.

I expected that there were no version updates of the packages in main. I
had to realise that in Oktober 2013 there was an update of thunderbird
from 17 to 24 in the LTS version and its break the system.

I've just been updated from 8.960 to 13.101, and things didn't go at all
well.
As far as I can tell fglrx failed to install, as the previous boot gave:
[fglrx] Maximum main memory to use for locked dma buffers: 7506 MBytes.

Actually this is not related to a kernel upgrade, rather to fglrx
upgrade. The problem is reproducible, it happens when installing fglrx
2:13.101-0ubuntu0.0.1 . I downgraded to the old version of fglrx,
2:8.960-0ubuntu1, and it works without a problem in newer and older
kernels, so the bug is relat

Here is a workaround:

This is the first I had heard of those, and I'm very glad they are now
