Yes I've been having this problem too - firefox wont open more than one
html files at once from Nautilus.
The only way round it appears to be just to open one [so firefox is running]
then load the rest as one group at once from Nautilus,

Sadly, as of just now the version in the PPA when installed on a 64 bit
13.10 system produces corrupted / gibberish thumbnails from Canon cr2
files from a D7. I was really hoping to find a solution to the very
slow raw-thumbnail problem.

The last working kernel was 3.12.0-8-generic and the first for which the
bug started was 3.13.0-1-generic. I'll also try what you said and post
the results.
