The same happend to me when upgrading my Kubuntu 13.04 to the released
13.10, which is running in a kvm x86_64 virtual machine.

I'm also seeing frequent freezes on Nvidia Optimus muxless system when
using nvidia-prime and the nvidia drivers (no matter which version). I
think it doesn't happen when I remove the nvidia drivers and only use
the intel card.

I enabled the Nouveau driver in my Ubuntu 13.10 and started using my
laptop.
After I used it for few minutes (3-4 minutes) the system froze. Only the mouse
was working.

If you select a file or files in a file manager window, and open the
files there, working directory is user's home directory, not the
directory you select the files in. This causes problems in scripts that
rely on the working directory.

Just upgraded to 13.10, and the power indicator in the menu bar has an
additional item: the mouse battery indicator (in addition to the regular
laptop batter indicator). It is "stuck" on "(estimating...)" and has
been since I started the system. A reboot did not solve it.
