I got the crash too, but have not enabled folder sharing, only desktop
sharing (vino).

This is a frustrating problem.
Since filing this bug i have reverted to 12.04, which also went about
freezing randomly.
It seems though that freezing is limited to when the machine is on

Another data point; I had posted over at
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2168780, but recently found
this bug based on kernel crash syslog entries.
Anyway, I'm on a Macbook 4,2 FWIW:

Still occurs with ubuntu 13.10. Any fix?

My crash just happened when I logged in! (-:
Even without a crash, the audio volume control widget consistently hides the
drop down output when I click on it.
In effect, the xfce4-indicator-plugin audio widget is totally unusable.
Work-around: Copy the Pulse Audio Volume Control widget to Pa
