Christopher, no, I can't upgrade the BIOS; my wifi card its not Lenovo
branded, and I had to hack the whitelist in the BIOS to use the card at
all. In any case, this is an issue with the wifi card itself, so
unrelated to the system BIOS.
But the problem has not recurred with more recent kernel rel

update is available for your BIOS (1.52). If you update to this, does it
change anything?
